What is FootGolf?
FootGolf, a thrilling and fast-growing sport, fuses the precision and strategy of golf with the skills and vigor of football (soccer). Specifically tailored for adapted golf courses, FootGolf swaps out the conventional golf equipment for a standard size 5 football and larger-than-usual 52-centimeter (20-inch) holes.
The aim of the game is straightforward: with as few shots (or kicks) as possible, propel the ball from the teeing area into the hole. Similar to golf, players must traverse a course filled with diverse obstacles like bunkers, trees, slopes, and water hazards, all while handling distance, accuracy, and technique. Typically offering 9 or 18 holes, each course in Spain includes a set par for every hole, indicating the optimal number of kicks required for completion.

FootGolf in Spain
FootGolf in Spain kicked off in 2015 when the Federación Española de FootGolf (FEFG) was founded. It has quickly become one of Europe’s top FootGolf scenes. Starting from 2016, Spain’s annual Campeonato de España has been the highlight, evolving into a nationwide tour with various events like individual and team matches, match play, the Masters, and the Spanish Open.
Partnering with local federations, the FEFG hosts regional championships that connect to the national series. Spain’s pleasant weather, top-notch courses, and enthusiastic community create a fantastic environment for both casual players and serious competitors in FootGolf. The country regularly welcomes European and World Tour competitions, solidifying its position as a key player in the sport.
